Strength
It’s more than how many bags of groceries you can carry at once, more than the number on the abductor machine at the gym. Strength is that inner fortitude within each of us. When you have been beaten down by the world and your heart is hurting, strength allows you to carry on.
Strength is within all women. Sometimes it is buried beneath years of hurt and scorn, but it is there. You see it in the determination of an abused woman leaving her abuser after years of entrapment. It is visible in the eyes of the mother who just saw her son leave on another deployment. Everyday we walk right on by strength and seldom acknowledge it. The strength that goes most often unnoticed is our own.
Sometimes it is hard to recognize our own strength. We get so wrapped up in what we aren’t able to do or where we fall short that we miss the power that we do exude. Where have you seen strength in your fellow women? Have you acknowledged them when you noticed? Come share stories of strength in the face of turmoil in the Women’s Nest Women’s Forum. Help other women recognize the strength within themselves.
