Tonight was our 'Easy Readers' book club meeting. We read, "Chamomile Mourning" and discussed it. The book was okay. I knew who the killer was by page 191. The best parts of the story were the descriptions of the different teas and pastries served at the Indigo Tea House. It was quite tempting gastronomically!
So.............for our meeting, we had a TEA PARTY of our own!
Yes, at the library, we had table linens, scones, teapots, tiny little forks and spoons and little finger sandwiches! We had white hydrangea flowers from one of the gal's trees....not a hydrangea BUSH, a hydrangea TREE!!! I guess they're different?! It was AMAZING! We all wore crazy, funky hats......I was going for a southern belle look, but still looked like an old italian lady wearing a sunhat, ready to go and pick vegetables from the garden! I LOOOOVE the ladies in this book club. We are all very different....different childhoods, religions, ethnicities, and interests, yet we all seem to come together with ideas for our club! My friend Diane, brought gluten-free scones....just for me! She's a doll.
We're planning to get together to see, "Eat, Pray, Love" on Sunday. I can't wait. It's next month's book club, although I've already read it.
I just can't believe how much fun our whacky tea party was tonight! No nightmares tonight...just sweet dreams!
