Spousal and Child Disappearances

Have you noticed how many times in the last two years women have disappeared and their husbands have been the primary suspects? Often times there are small children involved. We're also hearing more and more about parents murdering their children or allegedly giving them away. This makes me wonder what our society is coming to. Are people becoming so desperate that there is no way out for them, and murder seems rational in their minds? Their only escape from their troubles? Are people being brought up to not shoulder the burden of their decisions, but rather to harm others in order to escape them?

I'm troubled by the ease and frequency that this seems to be happening. I'd love to hear your thoughts on the subject.
