random thoughts on a new start

June 24, 2012 by bluepeashooter

It's a beautiful Sunday and I'm feeling the need for something new.  I've been searching for 'stuff to do' in a general effort to enjoy life more and somehow keep coming back to 'if it is to be, it's all up to me'.

I used to be depressed all the time.  Bored, lazy.  Nothing would float my boat.  I then started exercising and that's when the magic started.  I now truly believe it when Jillian Michaels says something to the tune of success in the area of exercise transcends to all other areas of your life.  I see it working every day, I'm no longer bored.  I don't walk about thinking "why bother?".  It doesn't take a lot for me to be interested now and basically, I have a better attitude towards uneventful days - and we do have those every now and then!

The goal now is to keep myself motivated to exercise 5 days a week (or 6) and to do fresh, new stuff as often as I can.  Let me qualify that, with my new found zest for life everything now seems fresh!  It's all become an exercise in widening horizons.  Of acknowledging my boundaries and slowly expanding them.

I'm not saying I'll never ever be bored or depressed again.  But with this new frame of mind I have a better chance of living a full life - whatever that means to me (I'm still trying to figure it out!).

But anyhow, here I am and I'm curious to see what will unfold as a result!
