In Maryland, in order to obtain a divorce, you must physically live in different homes for a one-year period.
There is a particular law maker who wants to change that law to say that the couple can live together but not have s*x. WTH? Few things to think about:
A) How can they enforce it?
B) After a while, your ex might look good to you for solely sexual purposes, putting the "separation" into a precarious position, and think about how that would confuse the children?
C) What about when Mom or Dad starts dating - the kids might have a hard time with them bringing a date home.
There are too many issues to list, but check this out:
NO s*x DIVORCE (posted by Bizaare News)
ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - No s*x -- no marriage. At least that's what a Maryland lawmaker wants. Delegate Luiz Simmons is proposing legislation that would allow courts to grant divorces to couples after they go a year without having s*x. Current state law requires many couples to live separately for a year before they can receive an uncontested divorce. But Simmons says the requirement puts a financial burden on many couples, especially if they have children. The measure would allow couples to remain in the same house as long as they're not having s*x during the yearlong waiting period.
