multiplication and stripping

October 14, 2009 by Shamrocker

SO I am up this Wed morning off to a slow start the kids are just finishing  breakfast and starting school. I am trying to find my motivation to get back in the bathroom and fight that border again. It has been hateful!  I find myself making new chores just to keep me away from the bathroom. New experiments for our homeschool science lapbook. But I know I have to do it must make myself get sticky and gooey from stripping chems. Make arms go numb from being up  scraping the horrid paper away from the wall.  Sounds fun huh?  I am going to try to foccus on how great it will look once it is all down and we get the room painted scrubbed up and shelving  unit up.  Wish me luck.

As for homeschooling, one of the lists I am on posted they are starting a science experiment group. I asked the kids if they wanted to join but  they know most things groups start just end with no warning.  Plus they added we do so many experiments they think they would be bored at the group. So we are not going to join I have to say I was abit relieved . But I thought it would be a good chance to make friends but as they pointed out they would be working not making friends. "they would have pay attention not be social" I sure have smart kids if I say so myself . lol So   today is Bri's math and launguage arts day. So she is now getting her math out of the way. Math U see  has really help to cath her up and  fill in the gaps she had when I pulled her out of public school. However I just bought the multiplication song CD and was sadly disapointed. We could not understand the words and it was not simple for the kids to memorize. I was very surprised.  I have Sully working on his handwriting and  letters but in math he is in math U see alpha and doing some  worksheets from the Va SOL 's 1st grade prep book.  Viv is working on reading  and reading comp today.   She did a lot of math yesterday. Which I found a bit frustrating since most of it involved money worksheets. She  can work with real money  but put it on paper and she really get's confused.  I have also had to go back and refresh her counting by 10's and 5's  as well as some of the higher numbers ex. 330 and up  but she seems  to remember now.

Well the bathroom and the kids are calling me so no more play time for me. lol
