Often we just need to ask!

I am an HR Director for a company that does 80% of it's fiscal business in Nov and Dec - we go from about 300 full-time associates to 2500 full-time, part-time and seasonal.

When I took this position in January 2008 I realized that the key to creating change for new paradigms would be to get involved in the community and that I have and I am loving it!

My collegues are amazed at my ability to just ask and receive...

for example we still have about 100 phone agent positions to fill for the season and tonight while watching the news I heard them say retail jobs are scarce and people are being turned away... I figured what the heck -- I sent an email to the news director asking for them to send those candidates to us!  We offer great pay etc and generate positive revenue for our own community!

Within an hour she had responded that they'd love to do a GOOD NEWS piece on our openings!
