Give Your Business A Fresh Face!
As we turn the corner from winter to spring, everyone is ready for a fresh new look – even your business! That doesn’t mean that you have to recreate your logo, or overhaul all of your marketing materials. A fresh face can mean many things that are small, yet noticeable!
Here are a few tips to make your business stand out in the crowd:
<!--[if !supportLists]-->1 <!--[endif]-->Have or sponsor an event! The changing of the seasons is a great time to remind current clients that you are still around and in the game. It’s also a great time to gain exposure. Find an event to sponsor, a charity to support, and have your business name piggy back on their success. Sponsoring events does not have to be monetarily backed; sometimes it’s simply volunteering your time and that of your employees for a road race or raffle. Invest a little time into your business’s future.
<!--[if !supportLists]-->2 <!--[endif]-->Add a bit of color! If you have a typical farming/marketing card that you send out monthly or quarterly, change it up – Put a splash of bright color on your next mailing. Stepping out of your business’s comfort zone will catch people’s eye!
<!--[if !supportLists]-->3 <!--[endif]-->Magnets make great reminders! How many times have you picked up your mail and felt something in the envelope? That’s not the envelope you toss in the trash, is it? Of course not! That’s the envelope you open out of curiosity – the magnet that you stick on your refrigerator with out thinking, and the name and phone number that you read every time you reach for a drink or an orange. Use this to your advantage – make that interesting envelope yours!
<!--[if !supportLists]-->4 <!--[endif]-->Create a goal and conquer it. Make a realistic goal to find new clients – Whatever you believe is attainable with a little extra push. Whether that’s one client per week or ten makes no difference. Push yourself a little harder than you normally would. Let people know you are out there selling, creating, doing whatever it is that you specialize in. The more you network, the more potential clients you will reach.
What worked in 2008 may not work in 2009. Changing economic times will certainly affect small businesses. Don’t let it affect yours! Be on top of your game – Make your business stand out by freshening up your face a bit. Change up your typical look and feel. You may find others taking a second look.
