This is a realy easy recipe.  There are a few variations but this one is the simplest to make -- no rolling involved, you pinch the dough, fill and bake!

1.

Mix cream cheese and butter until smooth. Add flour slowly until well blended. Shape into a ball and chill for a 3 hours or overnight.

2.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C)  Pull off about 30 little pieces and roll into balls.  Make a thumbprint in each one and fill with almond filling, jam or preserves.  Place on ungreased cookie sheets.  Bake for 10 to 12 minutes.

3.

After they are completely cooled, sprinkle lightly with confectioner's sugar.

3 ounces cream cheese

1/2 cup butter, softened

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup filling

1/3 cup confectioners' sugar
