 Sun catcher

  • 3 Popsicle sticks
  • glue
  • 12 inch ribbon/yarn
  • glue gun or glue
  • colorful sequins, rhinestones, small glass gemstones
  • newspaper
  1. Cover work area with newspaper  for each person doing the activity
  2. Glue the sticks together in the shape as of star
  3. Glue on the sequins, rhinestones, etc
  4. Turn  stick over and do the other side
  5. Tie the ribbon onto the end of one of the star points making a loop so you can hang up your sun catcher.
  6. Dry and hang up by the ribbon

Film case holder

  • clear empty film container with lid
  • scissors
  • 2 small craft foam flowers
  • 24 inch of craft cord, ribbon, yearn
  • blue pony bead
  • tacky glue
  • flower stickers/stars etc.
  • construction paper/card stock
  • laminating paper
  1. Punch a hole in the middle of the lid with scissors in the center and one of the foam flowers
  2. Fold the craft cord in half and tie the loose ends together into a double knot
  3. Push the folded end of the ribbon through the bottom of the hole in the lid, through one of the flowers and then the pony bead.
  4. Pull the cord tightly so the knot is up against the bottom of the lid, and the flower and bead are on the top of the lid.
  5. Use glue to adhere the flower to the lid top and the bead to the flower.
  6. Decorate the container with flower stickers or foam flowers

Kids can wear them on walks and put in little things they find on the walk: small rocks, twigs, leaves. Then come home and and use the items they found to make a picture. If you have laminating or clear contact paper, you can put them on both sides of the paper to make a placemat.

Ladybug spinner

  • 2 scratched CDS per project
  • hot glue gun
  • drill
  • black and red form or felt
  • chalk
  • scissors
  • tachy glue
  • white and black paint
  • small paintbrush
  • standard-size hole punch
  • 36 to 40" length of fishing line, string
  1. Hot glue the 2 CD's together with the shiny side facint out.  Drill a 1/4 hole about 3/4 from the top edge.
  2. Trace the CD on the black foam or felt to cut out 2 circles
  3. Cut out 2 wings from the red felt
  4. Glue the circles onto one side of the CD and wings on the other circle. Let dry.
  5. Use the handle end of the paintbrush to dot eyes onto the ladybug, first with the white paint and then with the black paint. Let dry
  6. Punch several dots out of the black foam/felt and glue onto the wings
  7. Thread the fishing line through the hole and hang

Use your imagination and make flowers, dogs, cats, out of the CD's

Autumn Globe

  • 1 glass jar (baby food/small jar with lid)
  • water
  • sequins, glitter
  • small plastic pumpkins, snowman, trees etc
  • Florist clay
  • Glue gun
  • colored felt
  • ribbon
  1. Cut out a circle of felt and glue it to the lid covering the top and sides. Glue on the ribbon around the sides of the lid
  2. Open the jar and inside the lid put hot glue and then clay on it and then stick the plastic pumpkin or snowman or trees-I would use hot glue to secure them onto the lid.
  3. Fill with water about 1/4 from the top.
  4. Sprinkle the glitter, sequins
  5. Put the lid on, dry the lid and glass, put hot glue around the rim or the lid to secure the lid to the glass.
