Just really sitting down for the first time today. Worked 6:45-2:30, then picked up Jordan from my parents' house (no school today). They went to see The Express and loved it. Jordan was all hyped up because he loves football and possibly from all the candy and soda my parents buy him at the movies:) So, where's the best place to take a child in this state? Yeah, let's go get your Halloween costume!!
Jordan has being saying since the end of August that he did not want to be anything for Halloween. What? I have to talk him into dressing up and going trick-or-treating? I thought kids loved Halloween costumes - I did. I told him that if he wanted to go trick-or treating he'd have to dress as something. He must have stood at the wall with all the pictures of the boxed costumes for 30 minutes. Apparently, the store does not keep the costumes out anymore, you pick from the picture and they go get it for you. After all the looking - nothing. He does not want any of them. Well, let's look around, I said. He finds a pair of those glasses with big eyebrows, nose, and a little mustache. I want this he says. Ok, what are you going to be? What else will go with that? We walked around the store and he picked out rainbow suspenders, a big clown bowtie that squirts water, knee-high red and white stripped socks, a clown horn, and a king's crown. He says he's going to be "King Goofy." How funny is that? He wants me to get him some clown-like shoes, so I'll be visiting a thrift store soon.
Off to the grocery store - which all you moms know is great fun to do with a kid -especially one that does not want to be there -"I really want to try on my costume."
Talked my husband into going and picking up the dogs we are pet-sitting this weekend. Great, that gives me extra time. Walked on the treadmill 30 minutes, which I'm so happy about b/c I thought for sure that exercising was not happening!
The dogs arrived! My dog, Duke, nearly lost his mind! Soooo happy to have friends over. They ran, played and wrestled in the yard. Good dog fun!
Jordan and I made homemade pizza - a WW friendly version:) Had the family dinner in the living room, in front of the TV and fending off doggie noses.
What a great day it turned out to be!
Here's a picture of the relaxing at the day's end.
