Last night I was able to get caught up with a friend I have not spoken to in a while. She also lives in the country even more then us . They have cows you name it. She also has a few more kids but she homeschools too. We got to talking about how are kids get to kinda live in the best of both worlds. The good ole days when a kid was a kid. They got dirty, they made their own toys, their siblings were their best friends, and they worked as hard as they played.
We got a late start yesterday on school but when we got it it was worth the wait. Not only did we do our normal work we also studied Martin Luther King Jr. for a bit. We watched 2 movies about him including one with a lot of live footage and interviews.
I am learning how to hunt out all sort of tools and info to use in homeschooling. I am always searching the web for websites with math games, alphabet games, even grammer lessons. I am always hunting for deals on books , currics, notebooks, crayons ,markers, craft supplys, social activities and I spent a good part of this afternoon hunting a deal on a movie rental contract. I need a tool to get some more interesting science, history bio's , and even geogrophy movies into our homeschool.
Where to begin? I guess I will begin with my day. We had our field trip to the power plant with the homeschool group . It was a great , very educational trip. It was great for my kids to see another kind of power plant since their dad being a millwright works shut downs. They were able to see a coal power plant when he worked one of those but they have never seen a nuclear. Bri was able to hang out with one of her fave little friends such a sweet little girl.
SO I am up this Wed morning off to a slow start the kids are just finishing breakfast and starting school. I am trying to find my motivation to get back in the bathroom and fight that border again. It has been hateful! I find myself making new chores just to keep me away from the bathroom. New experiments for our homeschool science lapbook. But I know I have to do it must make myself get sticky and gooey from stripping chems.
So I have officially rejoined the living. After a week of being so sick I was worthless. SO today we did homeschool like usual from 8:30 to around 12:30 finished a bit early today since we had unit tests and reviews mostly. Last week Bri was really struggling with her geography and me being so sick I was not really focussed either. But this weekend we went to several differnt parts of the river that were gving her trouble and let the kids explore and turned the dog loose. Ex.
So here is my attempt to blog for THINK.
SO it is 10:30 I am all sleepy and just hop in my bed get all cozy when in hops Dutches. Licking her belly like mad. OH OH that is a sign it is time for babies. She is officially due the 17th but we sure feel a lot of movement in there so it might be tonight. So out of my bed I go into the little maternity ward/ office/ laundry room lol . Now I sit here waiting Dutchess in her little bed, Miecho next to it on the floor waiting , So I figured I might as well invite you all to wait with us.
I am kinda lovin this nest email stuff. How about you guys. I feel a little less lost when I am away. :)
I have been so busy doinf yard work and going to cook outs and pic nics. OUTDOOR challange. We close down our pool this week end I am so sad the cold weather is on the way. But I always loose weight in the winter . Shivering your ass off burns a ton of cals I suppose. lol
Hello nesters I miss you all madly! I have been so busy I have had no time to savor some much needed nest time. My morning coffee and nest time has been turned into chugging coffee on the run . We are in full swing with home school doing and that starts at 8:30 am so I am off the radar from 8:30 till around 2pm. most days. Plus I have been doing a lot of soul searching and life reflecting. Oh you know that is never a good thing. I have decided to go back to school.
OPERATION CATCH THAT DOG ROCKED LAST NIGHT!!!!!
Think catching thoughts ladies! Animal control has finally showed with a trap and set it up. Put food in it and sprinkled scent enhancer all around and on it. It is driving my dogs and cats crazy so hopefully we will catch us a killer. While animals control was here this am one of the neighbors stopped by to let them know the dog got another of her roosters. It has killed something of just about everyones . Very scary and sad. They are trying to locate more traps to set up more on the street..
So things have really been happening around here. I have gotten frustrated with our counselors lack or appearing to me anyway. Of my situation with my kids and family lot. Jim has come off a med and is doing better it seems. He was out of work for many weeks this past month but is working steady again it seems for now. Yeah! But things seem to really be getting better. I met that new friend and she is just a breath of fresh air. She gave me the motivation to go to a church I have been getting emails from for 2 yrs. She had gone only 2x's but liked it. I really enjoyed what I heard saw.
Ok ladies help me out here. As some of you know my heart has gone through a few real stompings recently especially in the friend department. Well I posted a want for ceiling fan blades on freecycle a few days ago and got a responce from a a women named Vivian I replyed thanks and to arrange pick. Of course I had to tell her how beautiful her name is and told it was my daughters name. She brought me the blades at the gym the next day. She said her son was 5 and I said oh my son needs boys to hang with he has 3 sisters we should get them together as she seemed really nince.
Well I am sorry I have been slow on posting . I have posted in some of the forums but just normal chatter stuff. So here goes the catch you all up stuff.
