The last laugh!!

December 18, 2010 by Shamrocker

I am reading the book "She who laughs lasts" It has short stories about how important laughter is and how basically god made us all who we are and we should be proud of our quirks. AKA (weirdnesses) So  inlight  of this I thought I would celebrate my weirdness and share a few laughs to brighten this kinda over cast Sat am.

weight loss battles

October 14, 2010 by Shamrocker

I know a lot of you ladies on this site are trying to loose weight. I thought I would share a few things. Most of you have known me for a few years seen pics or even met me in person.  I am 110-113 now my ideal weight but it was not always that way and it did not happen over night. I worked with my doctor asking what should my weight goal be and breaking that down into small 5lb goals till I reached my total goal.  making small changes at a time that made huge changes over time.

What would you do for a friend?

October 14, 2010 by Shamrocker

Have you ever stopped and actually thought where is my line in the sand? What is it that if a friend asked me to help her out with something I would say "umm no way ".  I find as I get older my lines get blurred some get more clear and I know where for sure they are then others I still just give as freely as ever.  Say I am busy but a friend needs a moment of my time I still just give it with out a second thought as long as it does not harm my kids. Poor hubby I confess sometimes does have to be understanding.  I still lend out clothes or such.

Show and tell throw back:)

October 14, 2010 by Shamrocker

I have been so busy and it is about to get even busier around here. Between schooling, weekend fun, house and yard stuff. Wow I am tired thinking it through.  I doubt I will be able to get on here much the rest of the month so I thought I would jump on share a bit  tell you all have a great month and I will miss you all. I hope everyone has a safe and slimming month. Stay out of those candy feed bags the kids get later this month. :)

July

July 16, 2010 by Shamrocker

Well it is July and has been 100-103 lowest has been 95. I am personally loving it but I am a well kept women lol. I spend my days with the kids in the pool, at the lake , at the state park water park, in AC, at friends with AC, in stores with AC, or back in our pool. hehehe. Hate me much?  My husband however is very hating the heat. He got his company truck and is working steady thankfully . However it is ultra hot on his jobs.

Who is snow bunny again? Any other huge changes?

May 10, 2010 by Shamrocker

I have trimmed the fat in every way around my parts. I have cut out cable , internet, home phone, and have stuck close to home . Jim has been working very little and out of work completely for 2 weeks. So instead of falling behind and playing a mean game of stressfull catch up when work picks up I just trimmed the fat.

spring time

April 5, 2010 by Shamrocker

Spring time is really here. It was almost 90 here yesterday. LOVE IT!  The kids and I are so busy planting and digging up things. Moving plants , weeding , building our barrier wall finally around the front flower bed and the sides.   We made some potted plants and plopped them around the yard to see how they turn out  on our breaks between mulching.  OUr pool is just about full and ready to open. The signs of summer are all begining to show. Blooms are on every fruit tree, flowers are popping up some have already bloomed some are just about to.

Icky fun

March 30, 2010 by Shamrocker

We went for a walk and discovered some cool  tadpole egg sacks a few at different stages. So we are going to share and watch them hatch with a few of our friends to see whose hatches first and try to see how many we get.  In case you have never seen I have included some pics.

Gearing up for the busiest time of the year.

March 25, 2010 by Shamrocker

As regular schools start to round out their year  with testing and  finishing projects. My homeschool family is gearing up for our busiest time of our year. Spring and summer we get the most of our schooling done. Maybe the nice weather is such great motivation to get work  done so we can get out in in the sun and fun. But there is just so much to do and explore doing this time of year. So many great field trips.  Which then spring board us into projects, reports, research, more reading, and  more outing that might be related.

The good ole days.

March 1, 2010 by Shamrocker

Last night I was able to get caught up with a friend I have not spoken to in a while. She also lives in the country even more then us . They have cows you name it.  She also has a few more kids but she homeschools  too. We got to talking about how are kids get to kinda live in the best of both worlds. The good ole days when a kid was a kid. They got dirty, they made their own toys, their siblings were their best friends, and they worked as hard as they played.

Martin Luther King Jr.

January 19, 2010 by Shamrocker

We got a late start yesterday on school but when we got it it was worth the wait. Not only did we do our normal work we also studied Martin Luther  King Jr. for a bit. We watched 2 movies about him including one with a lot of live footage and interviews.

Learning to hunt and trust.

November 18, 2009 by Shamrocker

I am learning how to hunt out all sort of tools and info to use in homeschooling.   I am always searching the web for websites with math games, alphabet games,  even grammer lessons.  I am always hunting for deals on books , currics, notebooks, crayons ,markers, craft supplys, social activities and I spent a good part of this afternoon hunting a deal on a movie rental contract. I need   a tool to get some more interesting science, history bio's ,  and even geogrophy movies into our homeschool.

Sharing and a little ranting.

November 17, 2009 by Shamrocker

Where to begin?  I guess I will begin with my day. We had our field trip to the power plant with the homeschool group . It was a great , very educational trip. It was great for my kids to see another kind of power plant since their dad being a millwright works shut downs. They were able to see a coal power plant when he worked one of those but they have never seen a nuclear.  Bri was able to hang out with one of her fave little friends such a sweet little girl.

multiplication and stripping

October 14, 2009 by Shamrocker

SO I am up this Wed morning off to a slow start the kids are just finishing  breakfast and starting school. I am trying to find my motivation to get back in the bathroom and fight that border again. It has been hateful!  I find myself making new chores just to keep me away from the bathroom. New experiments for our homeschool science lapbook. But I know I have to do it must make myself get sticky and gooey from stripping chems.

A day back in the living.

October 13, 2009 by Shamrocker

So I have officially rejoined the living. After a week of being so sick I was worthless.  SO today we did homeschool like usual from 8:30 to around 12:30 finished a bit early today since we had unit tests and reviews mostly.  Last week Bri was really struggling with her geography and me being so sick I was not really focussed either. But this weekend we went to several differnt parts of the river that were gving her trouble and let the kids explore  and turned the dog loose. Ex.
