Depression...A hard pill to swallow

OK I admit it...I'm depressed. It's not an easy thing to admit. To others and mostly to yourself. It's funny thing. If I feel a mania coming on,I throw it a party and welcome it with open arms. Depression on the other hand, I fight tooth and nail. I close the door and press with all my might to keep it out. Well this doesn't work...

Reiki for boy with autism

The reiki energy still amazes me. Yesterday I started treating a 6 year old with autism. I knew from the get go that he would not lie on the table and let me touch him. He also gets very anxious in new suroundings and has tactile sensitive issues. He hates getting dirty and if he wants something and can't have, he has a meltdown

The skunks are back

It's baby seasson and they're out in full force. We have a large porch in the front. The skunks love it there. Last summer we trapped 14. Every time we'd get rid of one family another would move in. So this year we're leaving them alone. Hopefully only the one family will live there. I will say the babbies are adorable and we had a great time watching...and feeding them.... Yea I know that didn't help the matter, but they were sooooo cute. Well last night they kept me up all night. Not so cute.. Our dogs have been sprayed a couple times. Now they know to stay away. Thank god...

funny thing happened

Today I went to the local college to run on their new track. They redid the whole athletic area. Very nice, great track... Well I had to pee, so off I ran to the locker room. I'm in there looking for the bathroom when I realize... Hey there are men in here. Opps I was in the mens locker room.  So I said hi and asked where the womens locker room was.  If I were in my 20s I think I would have been so embarrased. Not now, I was old enough to be their mom. So I said bye and walked out

This will be a simple explanation

The body uses 3 types of fuel to work. The first and easiest is glycogen. This is your carbohydrates. The next easiest is fat. Then protein, which is muscle.

The body can only store so much glycogen, so when this fuel is used up, the body will start burning fat. The average person's glycogen stores will be used up after about 45 mins of cardio. So anything after that is fat burning.
